Travel
Armidale is situated on the New England Tablelands of New South Wales, 510km north of Sydney (6hr drive), 462km south of Brisbane (5.5hr drive) and 190km west of Coffs Harbour (2.5hr drive). Armidale is the intersection of the New England Highway, a main road link between Sydney and Brisbane and the Grafton Road, which runs east to the Pacific Highway near Coffs Harbour.
Armidale has its own commercial airport at the outskirts of the City, approximately 8km from the Central Business District and provides a number of daily services to and from Sydney (http://www.qantas.com.au). All major coach lines also service the City. The State Rail Authority runs a daily Countrylink service to and from Sydney (http://www.countrylink.info)
